Whose hall of fame are you in?

I was on the way back from taking my grandson home tonight while listening to talk radio. Jeff Bagwell, retired Houston Astro, was the guest speaker on the show. The host asked him “Do you think you will ever get into the Hall of Fame?” Jeff answered saying he didn’t know but who wouldn’t want to be in any Hall of Fame? I got to thinking about that and wondered about the different kind of “Hall of Fames.” I don’t think I would want to be in the Murders Hall of Fame, you know right up there with Jeffery Dahlmar. No not that one! What about the Worst Dancers Hall of Fame. (My dancing is practically non existent so this one I actually could make.) But what Hall of Fame would I like to be inducted in to? I think the one that I would like to be in the most would be the one that Jesus has waiting for me after I exit this mortal life.

“Here she comes! Lucy’s on her way, YEA!!!! She’s here. Mom, dad and other family and friends are waiting for me as I enter heavens door. What a homecoming that would be. I envisioned the angels cheering as I arrived. I walk into the waiting arms of the Lord and give him a big hug. I fulfilled my earthly duties and was “voted” in. I know it sounds silly, but that is what went thru my mind as he uttered those words. It is funny how a few words can send you off on tangents.

You're right about NOT wanting to be in the Murders Hall of Fame!! Jamie Dawn, prolific & infamous serial killer was admitted into the Murders Hall of Fame for her amazing killing spree. Uh... no thank you!!
:-)
Pearly Gates Hall of Fame sounds great!!

Thanks for your scholarship tips. Courtney has been accepted to a film school already, and she has applied for the one scholarship she qualifies for there. We have also applied elsewhere. College sure is expensive, isn't it!!!

I'll be back for your next post about healthy casseroles.
Until then, I hope all is well.

You asked about that movie "AUGUST RUSH"...No, I have not seen it but I will put it on my Netflix List....Thanks for the recomendation...!
I've never really understood the whole Hall of Fame Concept, I'm afraid....I do think it is lovely to be appreciated by whomever while one is alive, but the singling out of people for so very many of these things is so tied up to other factors...There isn't much purity to them, to my way of thinking.

I did check on "AUGUST RUSH" earlier, the reviews say I can go to it. There are NO BAD WORDS, but a little fighting which gets it the PG rating.

There will be many in Heaven's Hall of Fame, we pray for our friends to be there too!

Worst Dancers Hall of Fame? I might be in that one with you. I took ball room dancing informal classes, we learned all kinds of dances.
But I very seldom went to dances and so didn't get much practice.

I joke with Mrs. Jim that if she goes to Heaven's Hall of Fame before I do (no promise, because I be first) that I will become a cruise ship staff dancer to dance with the unattached ladies.
Her reply is always the same, "You can hardly dance with just me, what makes you think you can get a job like that?"
So I go on about dance lessons when she is gone and some practice first. Then we drop the subject.

I'll be back to check out the healthy casseroles.

I can't see myself getting into heaven on a vote of my peers. Maybe there's a blogging hall of fame somewhere. That's my best bet.

Being in the Lords Hall of Fame is as fine as it gets. I'm with you dear, and I will meet you there.
Till then, you just go ahead and let a few words set your mind to dreaming and thinking. It's good for you!

That will be a glorious day... but it won't be for anything that I have done, just what has been done for me by my Lord and Savior to take away my sins and and allow me into "The Former Sinners Hall of Fame!" ~ Sola de Gloria! ~ jb///

Hi Lucy, Happy Valentine's Day (late) to you and T.F.
The scones are from a mix, of all things, that daughter, Karen, gave Mrs. Jim for Christmas. They are in a big box and she hasn't used half of them yet. She pretty much follows directions except only put three _____s of oil instead of five.
I don't get political on my blog when I can help it. But, my vote wouldn't need to be recounted either!
My "Jim's Blog This" blog was political sometimes. I got tired of being flamed and changed it to the "Jim's Little Happy Place" with all the old stuff just put into draft.
"Happy Place" is in limbo now, once in a while I sneak over there, about once a month.

thanks for the visit.
Your Jeff Bagwell story reminded me of the ONLY Major League Baseball game I ever went to.
Sometime around very early 1970's our family drove to Houston to visit relatives. I was 10 or 11.
The Astros were playing the Mets.

Denis sp? or Dennis Menke hit a homerun two or three rows in front of us. I can still remember watching that ball rise got my hands up in the air ready for a try at it.

Lesse, I'd like to be in the writer's hall of fame, the moms hall of fame, the friends hall of fame, the wives hall of fame, the downhill skiiers hall of fame, the vegetarian cooks hall of fame...

there's too many.

I'm excited for you to tell me how to make casseroles healthy! Just to let you know, you're in the wise words to offer hall of fame. in MY version of it at least.

For sure better than the hell of fame. Lol, I actually misread your title that way for half a second apparently because of my current topic!
