Tomorrow is the test……
Yes it’s finally here…..my ham test! I have been burning the midnight oil studying and learning everything I can so that I can make a good grade on the test. I told TF that “ I AM going to pass this test”. Early in the class, I ordered a book by the ARRL called Q & A for the Tech test. There are 12 different tests that we could be taking and this book has all the test questions with its answers and an explanation of why the answer is correct. I have studied this book inside and out and have reviewed the textbook so that I not only can pass the test but really know what I am doing. I am still working on memorizing the band widths, but by tomorrow morning I will confidently go and pass the test. I have really had a lot of fun with this class. Wish me luck!
Want to see what the tests are like? Check it out here I will be taking the Technician test. Go with the random test.
Update: I passed the test with a score of 91 % YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow you go girl!!!
Congrats for sure :)
Thanks for stopping by and way to go with all that studying you did .
congrats on that great mark! i tried that test but gave up after i was ten (wrong) for ten.
Congrats. You seem like the kind of student who takes his (her) testing seriously. Wish that type of resolve would rub off on my progeny.
Good Luck!!
I've heard a lot of people talk about Ham radio, but I'm still not sure what the purpose is. But it sounds fun.
Congratulations!! 91% is no mean feat, well done :o)
Just browsing and ran across your blog... I just started making yogurt about a month ago. Well, I bought the yogurt maker anyway.. lol!
Congratulations on getting your license, Lucy. I associate Ham operators more with single men and boy than with 56 year old women. It's good to see someone forging into territory less traveled. And a score of 91%? Outstanding!
Michele sent me, Lucy
oh great one - Thanks
present storm - It was a lot of work, but it paid off.
better safe than sorry - It did take a lot of work.
Big Dave - With all the work I had put into that class, I wasn't going to fail that test. The studying paid off.
nosurfgirl - The reason I took the ham class and worked so hard for the liscense, is because I can be helpful in case of an emergency. Our ward has divided off into six "neighborhood" and each group has a captain who will be in charge of the group. If a hurricane of other emergency comes thru Houston, we will be prepared and will be able to communicate with each other. I think this is going to be a blast, as I meet other hams and make new friends.
michelle - Hard work will pay off if you give it a chance.
orion's mom - I like making my own yogurt and it is a way for me to use my powdered milk. Eat what you store and store what you eat...
utenzi - you would be surprised how many women are ham operators.
bothaniel - Thanks
Hi Lucy ~ Congratulations on passing your test so well. I have been having awful trouble. My brother changed my blog to Beta and they lost my blog. He set up another and it got lost. No 3 seems to be working. The new url is

Could not open my own blog. Fun.
Take care, Merle.
Congratulations, and belated good luck wishes.
I see you received a wonderful score as well.
Now, go to do something truly nice for yourself!

Just popped over from Big Dave T's site...congratulations.
Ciao for now.
CONGRATULATIONS!
You did great.
Keep in mind I know nothing about this sort of thing...I scored an 86%. I even got all the math Qs right--physics in high school really has paid off!
well congrats! that is so cool what you are doing! Have fun!
Congratulations mom. I'm glad you passed with flying colors.
very cool. So... I'm guessing you listen to a certain frequency of radio and pick up information that you wouldn't otherwise.
Sounds like you will have a blast ;)
Whoohoo!! Congrats to you! I'm afraid I know nothing about the subject. You will do great no doubt!!
Lucy, you haven't posted in eight days. Are you still celebrating?
