Prayer....
"No earthly authority can separate us from direct access to our Creator. There can never be a mechanical or electronic failure when we pray. There is no limit on the number of times or how long we can pray each day. There is no quota of how many needs we wish to pray for in each prayer. We do not need to go through secretaries or make an appointment to reach the throne of grace. He is reachable at any time and any place."
--James E. Faust, "The Lifeline of Prayer", Ensign, May 2002, 59
"God knows the feelings in every human heart. He can soften sorrow and lead when there seems to be no light. Prayer can give guidance and confidence. It reminds us that no one need be alone in this world. If all else fails, remember, God and one other person can be a family."
--Marvin J. Ashton, "While They Are Waiting", Ensign, May 1988, 62
Just a thought on prayer: To me, prayer is an open communication with our Heavenly Father... We talk to him, he listens... By praying, he knows how we feel, what we need, and our thoughts... If we want divine guidance, we need to talk to our Heavenly Father...and we need to listen back...
Have a great weekend, everyone.

We were thinking of the same topic. Blog Church is about prayer this weekend. Neat, huh?
I love the part of that quote that says that no one need be alone in this world. That is comforting since we can be assured that no matter what comes our way, God is with us. Prayer sustains us.
God bless you, Lucy!!
:-)
You know Lucy...I have kept away from this subject, but I think i will go there anyways! LOL
Too many people think they need to talk to someone else to get their prayers to God!
I loved this post...
Have a great weekend
Love, jess
Wonderful post!! I love the quotes.
'and the old lady said, "I don't always walk beside Him. Sometimes He carries me in His pocket."
Hi Lucy,
Lovely thoughts for this Sunday.
The quotations were very meaningful.
I actually read these yesterday and thought about them for a bit. I was glad I did, because they brought a little more clarity to my church service today.
I said some extra prayers last night for a blogging buddy who has hit some tough times with health issues that are affecting her family. Beyond kind words, prayers are sometimes all that you can do. And I believe it helps.
you inspire so many and jess is so appreciative of you...keep it up....i feel embarassing when i blog so i have stopped awhile, but will keep up with your blog always
