How Unamerican can you get.........

HERE is Obama's RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO LET THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES........

Bad press, including a major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to
President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health
insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government
of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty.

The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal. "Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute..."

"I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country," Obama continued.

"I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

I guess OBAMA just doesn't get that the American people love and appreciate our military guys and gals who lay their lives on the line so we can lay our heads down at night in peace.

That's because he is not an AMERICAN at heart. That much is obvious. Why in the world people voted for him I'll never know, but we all will surely pay the price and
rue the day that he took office. America is getting change but not the change they were looking to get.

It's a shame but the people have been had again.

(AS FOREST GUMP SAYS : "Stupid is as stupid does")

Note from Lucy: Sorry folks, I just had to post this. I wonder if Obama pays for his own health insurance? Does the congress? Those young men and women who "Volunteer" to help keep our country safe, are not paid much of a salary.... The least we can do is pay for their health insurance and war injuries... For me it is an honor to have these people save guard our country so that we can live in a land free from harm. I gladly give my tax dollars for their health insurance and war injuries. Where does Obama get off calling our troops selfish? Ahhhh, don't get me started!! Thanks, Steve Sanders for sending me this.

I had heard this before and wondered how the "Commander in Chief" could say something like that, so I looked it up.

You can also research this on snopes.

I didn't see this one. No wonder the Dems are perceived as weak on military affairs. They are.

Home Jewel, thanks for the factcheck link. I went there to see for myself whether these quotes were true or made up. They were made up apparently.

This kind of thing happens frequently. Not long ago I emailed my friends and family about something pertaining to politics that turned out to be false. One of my friends who received my email wrote back giving me a link to a fact source about it. I dashed off a subsequent email to everyone with my apologies for sending them false information. So don't feel bad, Lucy. It happened to me too.

I was about to post the snopes article but it looks like I was beaten to the punch :)

I stopped reading email forwards a long time ago, especially when they are political in nature. I have yet to read one that I looked up and found to be literal truth, and not some distortion or twisting of facts or at the very least, words taken out of context.

Oh, I just Snoped it too, but was beat to the punch.

I read Political email forwards for kicks, but I agree with NoSurf about emails. They are rarely ever false.

Tri-Care is a complicated subject, as is the VA to say the least. It'll be interesting to see what'll happen with it during this administration.

Paying for insurance though, that doesn't sound real socialist to me though. (Sorry, couldn't resist).

Thanks everyone for correcting this old bird..... When I got the story, I wondered if it was true and I should have listened to that still small voice that told me to wait till I had checked it out before posting.....

I stand corrected and will take how many ever lashes I need from a wet noodle. Thanks.

I was going to question the validity of these statements attributed to Obama. I see someone "snoped" it and found they were false.
Obama says and does things I do not agree with, but the man is not an idiot. Saying those things would be political suicide!

Dear Lucy and fellow bloggers, these statements, according to Snopes, were NOT false. The conclusion was "mixed". The quote was not exact but the content was right on. It is a suffering shame that we lure our men and women into military service and then yank back the hook that brought them in. It is even worse that several of us looked at the same explanation and a few misquoted the results as "false'. Where did you see "false"? Just another way to show that we tilt the world on the axis we choose.

Thanks Annie, for clearing that up... I did some "Snoping" and discovered the real facts....

I was surprised to see the quote that you attributed to President Obama. It didn't sound like him, yet I thought that you were way too responsible to have repeated this on your blog without verifying its authenticity.

I see that other readers have already discovered that it is a fabricated quote being forwarded through a chain email [factcheck.org] and, due to the seriousness of it, look forward to your post correcting this.
