What Criminals live in your neighborhood?

I got this website from a friend of mine. I typed in my zip code and was shocked at how many sex offenders lived right in my own neighborhood. It only takes a minute, give it a try.

It doesn't hurt to know where they live. Just click the link at the bottom and type ONLY your ZIP code.

Thanks for the tip. I typed in my zip, and six sex offenders came up. I checked each address; they're far enough away so that it's not a problem.

Two of them live on the same street. I wonder if people living there know that?

I typed in my zip code. I was saddened to see that the very first name on the top of the list... was the name of the man who led my husband to salvation back in 1996. He used to be a respiratory therapist at our local hospital. Right before my husband "crashed" and went on a ventilator... he prayed with my husband to be saved. I will be praying for him.

Lucy...

Here is how extreme the Dems in our legislature are...

They refused to pass a bill to Install a Megan's law database, we had to shove an initiative up their tails!!!

Amazing!

BTW: Is the Alamo in Houston, or was that San Antonio?

Be mindful that these lists include many difference types of offenses from those who urinate in public to those who are violent child molesters. Often, men of 22, who have sex with a girl of 17, committing statutory rape, are required to register as sex offenders.

Please look at the specific list to determine what the nature of the crime is before getting yourself too worried.

Fred - Its good to know where the offenders live so that you can be careful.

Suzzi - You just never know what makes people do the things they do.

Aaron - The Alamo is in San Antonio. You ought to go there one of these days. Its a real history lesson for the state of Texas. The river walk in down near the Alamo and it is really rather nice.

Barbara - If you go back and hit the name of the person, it will tell you the level of the crime.

BSTS - Maybe Canada has something like this, you might ask around.

I didn't get any. Yipee! But when I lived in Texas and checked the sex offender registry I found over 20 within about 2 miles. Crazy. I've got two kids under 3 so that kinda concerned me. Not kinda, it did concern me. Good Tip.

We had six. I wonder if that's average for a suburb of a major city.

Hi, thanks for stopping by my (new) blog. (This is going to tag me with my old Blogger ID.) I was SHOCKED to find 23 names on the criminal check list when I typed in our zip code. Granted, this entire town has the same zip...but still, this is 'supposed' to be a quiet university town of about 64,000. About half a dozen live within a 12-block radius of me. I just started work in the office of a junior high, so was disturbed to see that at least 4 live in that neighborhood. Several had no street address listed, which also disturbed me. But what I found most frightening was the one who lives right across the the street from the public library...which is right between an elementary school and the high school and adjacent to a park. Thank you for sharing this. Good to know.

I think we have all been a little surprised by what we found. I was showing it to my son yesterday and he saw a name he recognized. He couldn't believe it. Hopefully we are all a little bit more aware of our surroundings.
